Join us for the upcoming Adult Community of Practice session, which will explore the management of offense-related arousal and sexual interests.
This session will provide practical, evidence-informed strategies to support treatment goals, including:
- Behavioral and therapeutic techniques for addressing offense-related arousal
- Approaches to fostering healthy sexual expression as a central treatment objective
- Real-world insights for clinicians working with individuals who have engaged in harmful sexual behavior
Following a brief introduction to the topic, attendees will be invited to participate in an interactive “Ask Me Anything” segment, offering the opportunity to discuss techniques, clinical experiences, and challenging cases or situations.

Bud Ballinger, Ph.D.
Clinical/Forensic Psychologist | Director of Treatment Services, NYS Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center
Bud Ballinger is a clinical and forensic psychologist with over two decades of experience working with individuals who have engaged in harmful sexual behavior. He currently serves as the Director of Treatment Services for the New York State Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, the state’s civil confinement program.
Since earning his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University in 2000, Dr. Ballinger has provided treatment, supervision, consultation, evaluation, and courtroom testimony across inpatient, outpatient, correctional, and civil confinement settings. A dedicated advocate for advancing therapeutic practices in this field, he is a past president of the New York State Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (NYS ATSA) and an ATSA Fellow.
